Reflection Of Netbook

This Year was easy with netbooks because of last year and at home. The only thing that I think the netbooks need are better mouse pads because they wear out too easy. If I could design my netbook to make it better I would resize it.

I like browsing the internet to research for things about my homework, and playing games. They are little which I think is good because it is easy to carry. The keyboard is tiny compared to my laptop at home. Other than that I love my netbook.

Year Seven Challenge

Yesterday on the 29th of november all the year 7’s had an awesome challenge that required us to use our imaginations. We had to make a christmas tree for task one. Sing a christmas carol for task two. And a slingshot challenge followed by the secret circle for task three.

After we thought about it for 10 or so minutes we then started to get along with our tree. Our group struggled because Ahsin was putting everyone off but in the end we finished. The tree looked awesome because of the decorations but we didn’t place anything.  

Two more minutes and it would be time to sing a carol. We thought we were going to ace it but instead we failed. My group and I laughed way too much because of Ahsin and his paper sword. Our carol sucked!

After morning tea for task three was a slingshot challenge and secret circle. We had to pick someone who was good on the shooting and one on the catching. Our whole team had to make a circle by sitting on each other’s knees. We didn’t communicate or work as a team which caused us to fail and not place anything.

Overall I think the day was awesome because it made us use our imagination and it was different. From doing the challenge it showed me how to construct a steady circle from sitting on each other's knees.

Bush Walk

On a day when the sky was dim and the sun was shining faintly my family and I decided to go on a hike because we were bored. We researched to find out a good route to go on. Finally we found one that was going through a forest. The moment we got there the sun started to shine brightly and the sky was now beautiful.

We were walking along when suddenly we found a map of the route we were taking. We saw that the whole hike would take three hours so we got prepared with our training clothes. I was in the appropriate clothing for this while my dad and sister were still thinking about what to wear.

I hopped out of the car and within three minutes I had got to the map. Then my sister came along and then of course my dad. The starting point looked the hardest but turned out to be quite easy. I was huffing and puffing after two hours but I didn’t give up.

We had a little break. We noticed that my sister was nowhere to be found. She had either walked ahead or had taken the wrong path. We decided to keep going to see if she would be up ahead. We shouted and shouted “Where are you”, but there was no reply. We got to the end. There she was waiting for us. She then said “I went the fast way it only took 30 minutes”, and then started to laugh.

We got home and had a talk about what happened today. My dad said to never walk off alone especially if your only nine. She then said sorry and we went to bed.

Neil Armstrong

Unfortunatly on the 25th of August an American Hero named Neil Armstrong died due to complications from his heart surgery.America mourns the loss of Neil Armstrong. He was given this role because he was the first person to land on the moon. As he was stepping out of his space rocket he said these words “One small step for man, One giant leap for mankind.

Neil Armstrong’s greatest achievement would have to be him landing on the moon and being the first in 1969. When he got back to earth they made him an American hero because of this. He took this role reluctantly which means he didn’t want to be a hero but they wanted him to be.

Smoking Is Bad

Smoking is not a good thing to do. It can kill you, it can affect your appearance, and is a waste of money. I'd advise everyone out there to never start smoking.

Smoking can cause you to die because of all the chemicals such as Benzene (Petrol Addictive) and Tar. Chemicals named carcinogens which can be found in cigarettes can cause all sorts of cancer. Smoking a lot of smokes can cause you to cough deeply. The worse is though that it can cause Lung cancer. Other problems include smoking can stop your blood from circulating properly which will give you heart problems.


Smoking can affect your appearance. It causes you to have bad breath, yellow nails and teeth. Those things will affect your social life because no one will want to talk to you. They won't want to hang around you when they are with some other mates.


 The price of smokes are 15-17$ a packet which is about 105$ a week and 410$ a month which I think is too expensive. If everyone brought a packet a day smoking manufacturers would have billions just from smokes. I don’t think people should buy smokes because all you are doing is wasting money of things that can kill you.  

So in conclusion my advice to you is not waste your money or your life on cigarettes.

An Artist named Vincent Van Gogh painted an artwork in 1989. The painting was named The Starry Night. He has added a lot of tone and highlights in his painting he was. The sky looks like a dull and dark place but the stars and the Moon lights up the sky.

Daniella Hulme Abundance

The artwork which is named Abundance was painted by Daniella Hulme. It is very

outstanding with its vibrant colours and figurative style of painting. She painted it in 2008 and
sold it later on in the year. Daniella has used a lot of pacific and happiness themes such as the
beautiful flowers and the bright colours.

Softball Writing Sample

After we did some energetic jump jam and had some breakfast, we then had to get changed into our uniform to get ready to head off to Rosedale park for our softball Championship. Miss Vaafusuanga then called us into the hall to get together and sort ourselves out. I was with Kingston P and his Mum in Miss V's car and we were just about to leave.

We hopped on the motorway to head towards upper highway 18. As we were going off the off ramp we saw signs that said ROSEDALE PARK in big letters so we followed the arrows to the awesome park. When we got there we saw all of the other teams which were competing in the tournament.

Well when we arrived at the big field we had to have a meeting with the lady that was in charge. She had mentioned all of the rules and if something bad had gone wrong to tell her. We then had to head off to the pitch for our first game against a team named Sommerville.

While we were playing them they just kept getting runs, one after another and we just got 1 run out of the whole game which I think is terrible. But when we were Versing Mansell which was the second team we versed we thrashed them.

Even though we come 4th I still had an awesome time and I think our whole team did the best that we can do.

Hydroslide Show Not Tell

Foot by foot we climbed the stair case which, lead us in to a dark hole that had a flow of water. As we plunged down the pitch black hole we felt the water rushing against our body. Then there was a light that lead out to a splash of water which went straight into my face. Can you guess what we are talking about???? Well we are not telling.

Marvin Ben Carson

“Yay!! Were going to the Ben Carson lecture” I said to Marvin. The year 5,6,7,8 all rushed like a herd of wild bulls on to the buses that came and went off to the Telstra Clear Pacific Centre. Now it was our turn.

Ben Carson was born in Detroit Michigan, a place where there are quite a lot of gangs. His mother Sonya, dropped out of school in the third grade with very little education and was married at 13 years of age. Unfortunately his parents divorced when Benjamin was only 8 , the boys poor mother had to work 2 sometimes 3 jobs just to provide both of her sons.

Ben and Curtis fell behind in school so all the kids in his class started to call him horrible names such as dummy which caused him to let out all of his temper. One day he was opening his locker when a boy come up to him and tried to close it. Ben’s bad temper caused lots of trouble, one time he punched some body so hard that it caused a 3 meter gash in his head.

One day the teacher came in and showed the class a rock it was a rock that the kids had never seen before. Nobody put their hand up but Ben knew the answer but he wasn’t even confident so he waited for somebody to answer the question. Then Ben put his hand up and everybody was surprised and astonished some of them started to laugh and say.

Lots of people nowadays post things online such as inappropriate photos and posts about themselves with little thought for the ramifications. I urge you to think before you post. Be cybersmart and you will do good when you get older.

Future Employers will search you up to see to if you have an account on Facebook or on other online sites. If you were to leave a negative foot print it would decrease the chance of you being employed.

Dodgy people can use your I.D for bad reasons like using it for fake passports or online sites like Bebo. Those people can try and hunt you down by getting information off the Internet. If you put your information online and you think it is private it is really not because all your friends can share your things with everyone else.

The things that you put online can hurt you and your family. If you say something disrespectfully online that you can’t say to there face then don’t say it. Other people around the world can then have affective an response to your post.
